1905 - The year of the first company
document. The company is established in San Giovanni Lupatoto, at the gates of
Verona, as a small bakery and grocery where Matilde Vicenzi, left a widow by
her husband Sante, continues the family’s business of biscuit and pastry
production, especially lady fingers, amaretti (macaroons) and sfogliatelle
1912 - At the Milan trade fair, Angelo and Bepi,
Matilde’s sons, purchase the first cookie drop machine. This leads to the
entrepreneurial vocation that accompanies Angelo throughout the years at the
helm of the company.
1950 - Giuseppe continues his father’s
semi-homemade activities and, accompanied by his siblings Mario and Beppina,
takes the first steps towards industrialisation.
1968 - With the purchase of the
first automatic line, Giuseppe Vicenzi specialises in amaretto production.
1970 - Vicenzi Biscotti S.p.A. is founded.
Production is launched in the current factory in San Giovanni Lupatoto.
1968 / 88 - Vicenzi focuses on niche
markets, thus producing some bakery specialties on the industrial level:

1977: Puff pastry production is launched
1980: Filled puff pastry production is launched
1986-88: Filled shortbread and puff

looks at the people and places of Verona”, on display in the city centre, in
Piazza Brà. Three internationally acclaimed photographers (Carl De Keyzer,
Stefano De Luigi, Mauro Fiorese) were invited to narrate the city through its
people, monuments, art, history, daily life and economy. A successful media
event that left a mark and is still an incentive for new communications
activities and projects.
1°December 2005 - The Centennial year
couldn’t have ended better for Vicenzi. The purchase of the Parmalat
bakery division and its important brands was announced on December 1st: the
product mix expands with the Mr. Day snack, wafer and biscuit line, Grisbì pastries
and ProntoForno bread substitutes. Four new factories thus join the group:
Bovolone (Vr), Lurate Caccivio (Co), Nusco (Av), Atella (Pz) along with 400
employees. This investment is highly satisfactory for a company in continual
evolution that has made commitment and passion a way of life, fully observing
Today - Vicenzi is now even bigger,
continually expanding to consolidate its leadership on its reference markets.
